Las Vegas Fishing Directions

We meet and embark from the Boulder Harbor Launch Ramp. This is confusing in that there is no marina there, only a launch ramp. It is very easy to get to from any Hotel on the Las Vegas Strip. You can use Google Maps to get to Boulder Harbor as of January 2017.

On Las Vegas Blvd. Go South to the I-215 Freeway. It will be about 1.5 miles from the Luxor. (Do not confuse it with the I-15)

Go East on the I-215. In approximately 12 miles it will end as a freeway and become Lake Mead Parkway. You will pass the Fiesta Hotel and Casino on your right.

Continue on Lake Mead Parkway. In approximately 6 miles you will reach the entrance to Lake Mead National Recreation Area. At this point the road changes names to Lakeshore Road. Go through the entrance booth.

Continue on Lakeshore Road. In approximately 6.5 miles you will pass the Lake Mead Fish Hatchery on the left. In one mile you will pass the Alfred Merrit Smith Water Treatment Plant on the left. In 1.3 miles you will reach the turn to Bolder Harbor on the left. This is your turn. There is a sign a few hundred yards before the turn on the right side of the road.

Turn left and Stay left on the concrete ramp at the fork in the road which will take you to the Launch Ramp.

These directions are the easiest. Basically, two turns from any hotel on the “strip” will take you right to the launch ramp. Don’t turn off of this road. Map Quest and other software will not make it this easy. Neither will the concierge or car rental agency. Even though it is only about 30 miles allow 50 minutes travel time. My number is (702) 375-1821 in case you become “directionally challenged”.

Trips departing later will need to pay entrance fee for the national park.
